Third Annual John R. Lewis Racial Justice Case Competition - Finals

Description

By bringing together current business leaders and top students from across the country, the John R. Lewis Racial Justice Case Competition (JLCC) goes beyond short-term solutions and brings lasting change. The JLCC is the first of its kind student-run case competition focused on racial justice, that provides students the opportunity to understand the history of systemic racism in the US and provide bold, innovative, and actionable recommendations for companies actively looking to address issues of racial inequality both inside and outside their organizations.

In the third year of the competition, four finalists teams working on prompts from sponsors Delta Air Lines and Taco Bell will compete and come together for the first ever in-person finals weekend focused on fostering community and creating bold solutions.

As a Member of Congress, Congresswoman Williams continues to uplift the legacy of her mentor and predecessor, Congressman John Lewis, by fighting to prevent voter suppression and expand free and fair access to the ballot box. She always centers the voices of those who are most marginalized. She brings this concern to Congress having seen firsthand how women and people of color continue to fight for racial and social justice in our country. Congresswoman Williams has a passion for a number of legislative issues including voting rights, reproductive justice, social justice, economic justice and healthcare—her work addresses delivering on the promise of America for all. She is particularly focused on policies to close the racial wealth gap, which she advances as a member of the exclusive House Financial Services Committee. Dr. Jeffrey Rosensweig (Professor @Goizueta Business School) Jeffrey Rosensweig is the Director of the John Robson Program for Business, Public Policy, and Government at Goizueta Business School of Emory University. An international business and finance professor, he focuses on global investing and business in the global economy and is often quoted in national business press. He also specializes in financial, macroeconomic, and business forecasting. Jeff is a frequent keynote speaker to leading executives on topics related to global economic and financial trends and forecasts and has written three books, including the critically-acclaimed Winning the Global Game: A Strategy for Linking People and Profits. In 2000, Dr. Rosensweig was elected a lifetime member of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations. In 2022, Emory University awarded him its highest honor, the Jefferson Award at graduation.
