Are PHA peer mentors available over the summer?
Alexa Melendez
47:16
I just went to the PHA peer mentor sign up and it said that they would be available 2 weeks from now but I may be wrong.

Do many students who take both bio and chem together during freshman year succeed in both classes? Or is some of the knowledge learned in chem 150 helpful for bio?
Jack Timmons
47:53
Would you say generally it would be more worth it to take the credit and push forward or take an easier A for GPA reasons?
Dani Laupert
51:03
Yes, Peer Mentors will be available this summer! Here is a link where you can view the PM’s and reach out to them or schedule an appointment: http://prehealth.emory.edu/connect/peer-mentors.html

Doubling up on sciences depends on your high school background, I encourage you to talk with the faculty in each department to discuss in more detail. If you start with one, we recommend starting with Chemistry.

This is from the biology bs major page: “4 credit hours of Biology 495 (Honors Research) or Biology 499R (non-Honors Undergraduate Research) may be counted as both elective credit and an upper-level lab only after completion of the second semester of 495 or 499R.” Can you explain what this means and what impact previous lab/research experience has on it?
Drew Siskin
54:27
When do you recommend signing up for an appointment with a PHA peer mentor?
Dani Laupert
54:33
Deciding whether or not to use your AP Credit depends on many factors, including when you took your AP courses, what you scored on the test, and how confident you feel in your preparation. If you took in your Junior year of high school, you may consider taking the course here at Emory. Keep in mind you are building a foundation to build upon as you transition to upper level courses. Also, we recommend you talk with the faculty in each department to discuss individually.

Dani Laupert
57:30
Appointments should be available soon, and they will also be hosting walk in hours as well.

Is it recommended to skip chem 150 using ap credit, and in the fall take the chem z sequence + bio lab in one semester? (BIol 141 Lab w/ Chem 202Z + lab)
